Charges are calculated the same way as a hotel; you will pay for the first day of your pet's stay no matter when you come in. On the day you come to get your pet, you will not be charged for that day if you come in before 10:30 a.m. However, if you are given permission to pick up your pet on a Sunday, you will pay for Sunday. We accept cash or check. We do not accept credit or debit cards.

WITH THE LARGE AMOUNT OF LAST MINUTE CANCELLATIONS WE HAVE BEEN RECEIVING WE ARE
IMPLIMENTING THE FOLLOWING:
DURING OUR BUSY TIMES  JULY AND AUGUST AND ALL HOLIDAY WEEKENDS ETC. IF YOU HAVE TO CANCEL
YOUR RESERVATION, WE UNDERSTAND THAT THINGS HAPPEN. HOWEVER, WE REQUIRE 48 HOURS NOTICE OR YOU WILL BE CHARGED THE AMOUNT OF $36 (A 2 DAY STAY) . WE REGRET HAVING TO DO THIS, BUT WHEN WE ARE NOT GIVEN
ENOUGH TIME TO FILL YOUR RESERVED SPOT, WE FEEL THIS IS NECESSARY.  I HOPE EVERYONE WILL
UNDERSTAND AND TRY CO-OPERATE WITH US.

Playtime is $5.00 for 20 minutes of fun with myself or my husband. Playtime can range from 1 time a day to 3 times a day or every other day. We will do whatever you wish. Our play area is very secure and dogs are never left out there alone. We feel a secure area is preferred to leash walking as a dog can pull and then be running free. If the weather is bad, we have a large training area where the dogs can be exercised.
Click here to see some of the dogs out in the play area.

We require your dog's vaccinations are current for
Distemper, Parvo Virus and Rabies.
We can give all medications including insulin if needed ( for a small fee).

Mill Valley Veterinarian Clinic is our kennel vet.

Although our kennel is not air conditioned in the summer, the dogs seem to really enjoy the choice of being inside or outside all day long, rather than being locked in during the day. We have excellent air circulation and in 20+ years have never had a "heat" problem with any of our dogs. We heat with gas, the floors are not heated as this can cause some dogs to be uncomfortable and like hot tubs for people, can cause a fertility problem with unneutered dogs. The kennels are kept at a very comfortable temperature during the colder months. Special care is taken to be sure our clients are very comfortable!

We do not put dogs together that don't live together.

During the summer months we use our outdoor cattery which the cats seem to really enjoy.

We encourage our boarders to bring bedding if they wish. Something well marked and easily washable is best. Favorite toys are also welcome. If your pet requires a special diet we are happy to feed it as long as you bring it.  We  feed Pro Plan Chicken and Rice but do not mind you bringing your own food if you wish. Containers of your food should be well marked with pet's name and directions.
Pets that require "special" care are welcome but there is a small fee depending on care needed.

Before boarding your pet you should be aware that each pet reacts differently to being boarded. Some will lose a few pounds and some will gain a few pounds. Some get stressed being boarded and some love being around the other dogs.

Our kennel can be inspected anytime during our regular hours or you can call and set up a time to come in if you cannot make our regular hours. We realize leaving your pet is very stressful and we want you to see where your pet will be staying. Unlike other kennels, you are welcome to bring your pet into the kenneling area and put them into their areas yourself if you wish.

Below are some random pictures of dogs boarded with us.

Welcome to our web site! We are a "Mom & Pop" operation here in Belchertown, Ma. We have been operating the boarding kennel for over 30 years. When my husband, Al, was ready to retire he thought running a boarding kennel would be a good job to keep us busy and be able to work at home. I guess, since we have been doing it for so many years, he was right! We have been "in" dogs for over 40 years; breeding, showing, training and loving them.
Although we live here on premises we do have hours of business listed below. Hope you enjoy looking around and keep us in mind if you need a loving and safe place to board your pets while you go on vacation!
